Somehow, somewhere, the English language became corrupted to the point that "argument," "contention," "debate," and even "discussion" turned into nasty things where people let their emotions get the best of them and make unkind remarks sometimes having nothing to do with the matter at hand. I feel like in your average, everyday, run-of-the-mill, ho hum argument, participants' intentions are to note things both duly and especially duelly (sic. This is actually a pretty good place to bring it up. The winner will be published the following Thursday.I'm going to repent of my earlier statement that "duel" is unrelated to this topic. You will receive confirmation of your submission within 24 hours however, only the winning author will be notified if their story is chosen. How will I know if I’ve been selected for publication? Submissions sent after the deadline will not be considered. The deadline for each submission is Friday night by midnight PST. We’ll post the best submissions each Thursday! When is the deadline? Submissions are due Fridays at midnight PST. Feel free to use your imagination and come up with interesting ways to incorporate this idea. Writers are free to submit stories of any genre, subject, or style (even poetry is welcome!), but submissions should adhere to the theme. Each 500-word section should be a complete story arc. Starting September 27 2021, we’ll be accepting submissions for the next cycle of Dually Noted. The Theme of the Next Project is “what the body remembers”.
